Today is Monday, tomorrow is Tuesday — no this is not a Rebecca Black song. But, hopefully by now you’ve overcome a weekend of fun in NYC and any bad decisions you might have made. Even if you have to get up and go to work tomorrow, you should go out tonight and go to Mercury Lounge. It’s a mix of old and new at Mercury Lounge tonight.
Performing tonight is one of Brooklyn’s finest up-and-coming bands: Appomattox. It’s no big surprise that we’re fans of Nick, Dave, and James. The band’s music is rad, their lyrics intelligent, and, to make things even better, they aren’t bad company for a drink or three.
What makes this show even better is that Appomattox is opening for Mike Watt and The Missingmen. There’s not much I can say about Mike Watt that hasn’t already been said. The man is punk rock royalty. Expect a potent mix of Minutemen songs and newer material from Mr. Watt. It will probably be awesome.
Appomattox plays at 9pm. Mike Watt plays at 10pm. Doors at 7:30pm.The show is at Mercury Lounge.
$15 in advance, $18 at the door. 21+
