Did anyone catch the show Girls on HBO lastnight? If you haven’t seen it I recommend checking it out if it’s on. Pretty hysterical. Lastnight the show closed with two of the girls dancing to Robyn – Dancing On My Own. The beat was stuck in my head so I figured it’d make a great song of the day. Enjoy!

Came across this band Tygerstype the other day that I enjoyed. I figured I would share with you. I don’t know much about them other than what I could find on their facebook. The band is made up of Gabriel Guerrero and Alden Towler. They are from Philadelphia and they describe their music as lightning bolts! Enjoy!

The Live at the Loft show never fails! Every time I stop by their site I discover some really raw good tunes. I slid on by recently and came across Erimaj’s performance. I’ve been trying to track down more of his tracks ever since. I’ve only been able to find one other video entitled “Conflict of a Man”. I need more in my life, so if anyone knows where I can get some more hook a “brotha” up. The sound is kind of old school but with a new school flavor if that makes any sense. The guys from streetetiquette.com were in the crowd during their performance and the bands style immediately made sense. Let me know what you think.

I don’t know about your point of view, but Hip hop’s future looks amazing from where I’m sitting! I don’t know what is going on in other places but one thing that I can always count on is finding random dope rappers. I came across this kid Joey Badass and his friends the other day. They are only 17 and still Brooklyn based high school students. These guys rap like they’ve been in the game for ages. This video is called “Survival Tactics”. After you’re done be sure to watch the interview Noisy did on Joey and his friends to learn a little about them. I’m sure we’re going to be hearing a lot of them in the near future. Enjoy!

Tonight all of you music people out there should do yourself a favor and head on down to The Bowery Electric and check out the band TeamMate. If anyone remembers our coverage of Big Hurry at Arlenes Grocery a while back, the drummer Dani Butcher makes up one half of TeamMate.

The first time I listened to TeamMate reminded me of the first time I listened to The Postal Service. Really pretty vocals, bad ass synthetic sounds, and some dope ass poppy drums is always a great recipe for a good time in this city.

There was no light in front of the band so I did what I could. All of my friends that saw this told me that it was pretty artsy and I should throw it up. I was going to sync up the sound with the sound from the boards at Pianos but since the lighting is so crazy I just threw it up as is.
