Caught some shows recently. When I go see a band I film it and write a paragraph or two reviewing that band. I’ll be doing the same over the duration of the North Side Festival all weekend. Enjoy!
Beast Patrol @Cameo Gallery

Beast Patrol’s front women was not only singing but shredding with style! I’m seeing more and more front ladies standing their ground. Front women aside, if you go to a Beast Patrol show more than likely you’re going to love them. It seemed like they kept switching the genre up. So there is definitely a little something for everyone.
The Stationary Set @Cameo Gallery

The Stationary Set was my favorite of the night. You know when you watch a band for the first time and you already feel like they’re huge? That is how they had me feeling within a minute of their set. Excellent set.
Clementine @Cameo Gallery

Clementine sounds like clementines taste, sweet and soothing. Vocals were on point. Band was on point. Good set. Great Cover!
Water Knot @Spike Hill

I didn’t really catch any of this set but If I’m passing by a venue and hear vocals and guitar that sound anything like the Mars Volta you better believe it stopped me dead in my tracks. I was only in Spike Hill the length of this video and got a quick clip. From what I heard they seem to be super dope. Hopefully I’ll catch up with them again soon so I can get some better footage.
Boys That Say No @929 XPO

These guys came all the way from Canada. Now this band was perfect for the situation at hand! All of their songs were consistant: melody, catchy, and make you want to dance. Great set guys! It also helped that they played a little later when the place was filled.
Ritz Riot @929 XPO

Ritz Riot was awesome! For a 3 piece band they definitely bring the noise. The only problem I had with their set was the crowd. They were playing beat down music and everyone was standing around just watching the show bobbing their heads. Their front woman made her way into the crowd and started pushing and shoving trying to get people moving. I hold nothing against them because they did their thing! This band would be awesome at a music festival with thousands in the crowd or a small stuffed venue filled with people trying to lose it in the pit. Overall they were a good band with a shitty crowd for what they presented to the table. Good set.
